“When Harry Met Sally” is one of the films that makes you feel good. The story is about a man and a woman who meet in a shared ride heading to New York City, and then meet again over time. It’s one of the films that make you realize the right one is in front of you while you might be searching the entire universe for that one. The film gives us a lesson for love with some fun, light humor. You can often connect with the one easily if the person loves what you love, and you feel like it’s a perfect match—but what if the odd changes and you are seeing that person going away from you? “Love Jones” is about Nia Long and Larenz Tate’s story. They find instant connection due to a situation on the verge of setting the relationship part. The film is a cult classic which you can buy or rent on YouTube.
‘Say Anything’ (1989)
You may have seen this film or not. However, you must have seen the iconic jukebox that the film shows, representing the hopeless love and showing the dedication that real feeling gives you. “Say Anything” is about the perfect girl meets an ordinary guy who is doing all to charm her. When he finally does that, they stay apart for a reason and what happens next is what the film is all about. She was just a girl standing in front of a boy, asking him to love her…a line that no one will forget about this film of an actress falling in love with a commoner. The life of both gets changed, but does the love change? “Notting Hill” has a stellar cast, and Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant bring the charm. It’s a truly romantic story that makes us believe that hope is everything when it comes to love.
‘Dirty Dancing’ (1989)
A list without this film would be incomplete. This is one of the stories that needs no introduction. This timeless romantic movie has stayed in the heart of us ever since it came. It’s something that gives you a cheer and needed fire to set your mood on the romantic movie night.
‘Monsoon Wedding’ (2001)
“Monsoon Wedding” is a long, joyous convergence of life, all of which occurs at a wedding in Delhi, India. The bride is facing doubts before an arranged marriage to an Indian man from the States. all around her; people face decisions and romance on their own; the film gives a strong message to you if you are a hopeless romantic by heart. While we always heard that men meet women and live happily afterward, not in all cases. Some relationships are beyond our understanding; they represent the same thing that we call love, but still, we can’t see it. “Brokeback Mountain’s” story focuses on such love between two men who are set in a way that not many can understand their state of emotions. ‘Silver Linings Playbook’ (2012)
This film is one of the perfect examples of what happens when two flawed people find love together. The story also won Jennifer Lawrence her first Oscar; the film is excellent and relevant today. “About Time” is one of the films that is genuinely under-rated, the story-focus on a man who can go back to time whenever he wants; he uses this skill to meet the one he loves. As time moves on, does going back in time always help to set all the odds right? The story is fantastic and leaves us with a lesson for life that while we all want to go back to time and change it, it might be or might not always be right. “Loving” is about a real interracial coupled who spent a long nine years fighting for their right to be together. The story is heart-touching and inspiring shows us that love has no boundaries.
‘Cold War’ (2018)
If you are soft-hearted, then this film is not for you, as this film can tear your heart apart. The story is set in 1950 in Poland about a couple who are meeting at different intervals to each other; they love each other. However, the time and situation does not love them. The story will leave you in a state you don’t wish to go, yet it gives you hope in love, which you require sometimes.
‘Sylvie’s Love’ (2020)
The film is about Sylvie, who falls in love with a guy who works at her dad’s shop. When they reconnect years later, they know that only time has passed, not their love. The film is beautiful and gives you the feeling of hopeless romance you need.
