Eraserhead

Whilst doing a search for the scariest movies ever, I was brought to a 1977 movie called “Eraserhead.” It was the first project of David Lynch, the man who went on to do the creepy television series “Twin Peaks.” As I began to peruse the reviews, I became fascinated with what I was reading. Rather than Netflix it, I found the entire thing on YouTube and sat down to watch it. It was terrible! Downright awful. The plot was lacking, the acting was suspect…and yet…I wanted more.

The movie, filmed entirely in black and white, takes place in a post-apocalyptic world.  The main character is Henry Spencer (Jack Nance) who lives alone and somehow manages a date with the girl across the hall (Charlotte Stewart). Henry is plagued by a mystery girl with puffy cheeks that appears to him in his radiator and his own baby which turns out to be a hideous monster.

There is really no way to explain it..”Eraserhead” is a truly bizarre movie that will leave you thinking about it long after you’ve stopped watching…and long after the lights have gone out for the night.

Check it out…if you’re brave…
