There is no age barrier celebrating this day by trying to fool their family members, workmates, and even fellow straphangers with various silly tricks.  We all know that 2020 hasn’t exactly been a year full of chortles. Most of the time has been filled with an accumulation of friction and unhappiness for people worldwide, and it’s been hard to find to chuckle, guffaw, or even snigger. Cinema has always helped us best express our feelings and give us the moments that we have been missing.

This time, we need to keep up as this time it’s different. This is one film that is fun, crazy, and smartly-crafted at the same time. The story is filled with many great jokes; the story takes on King Arthur and the Round Table’s quest to find the holy grail hilariously. The plot seems silly, yet done it brilliantly way.

National Lampoon’s Animal House’ (1978, Dir. John Landis)

This film is an American classic that has been loved by many over the years. The story focuses on two socially inept newcomers who wish to join Omega Theta Pi house, but get rejected and join rowdy Delta Tau Chi instead. While the college dean has it out for Delta, the situation creates a hilarious dose of laughter.

This is Spinal Tap’ (1984, Dir. Rob Reiner)

This film is one of the early representations of mockumentary-style, directed by Rob Reiner. The film takes on Rock ’n Roll in the ‘80s, and has funny takes on metal rock bands and their on-trip antics. The film has left its mark on many people for its clever story crafting and direction. It also has some great and fun moments from the music band side, and it has actual rock people sharing their personal experiences.

“This is Spinal Tap” is a must-watch if you are into musical comedy. It will definitely take take you back to the golden time of music with some laughter on top.

Ferris Bueller’s Day Off’ (1986, Dir. John Hughes)

This film has not yet aged and is loved by people from all the generations and nostalgic for the people of that time. The story focuses on a teen named Ferris who knows how skip school. He wishes to do it one last time before he gets to graduation, so he calls sick at school, borrows a Ferrari, and goes out on the streets of Chicago. Still, his principal has his own plan to catch him in the situation to create one of the finest comedies that many admire.

Andaz Apna Apna’ (1994, Dir. Rajkumar Santoshi)

This is an Indian cult classic film that has been ageless for its takes on comedy. The story focuses on two men who want to get fame; and to get that they try to marry one rich girl, and the process makes one jaw-dropping funny story. The film has given such iconic characters which have their respective fan base to date Additionally, many memes come from the film’s iconic lines.

The layered jokes in the film are hilarious, and the acting in the movie from each cast member is phenomenal. “Andaz Apna Apna” is such that each time you revisit it, you will laugh the same way. You can watch this fantastic comedy on Netflix.

Super Troopers’ (2001, Dir. Jay Chandrasekhar)

A list of April Fools’ Day movies would be incomplete without this film. The story shows a different narrative, as we don’t often see the police as pranks or jokes. The story is about misconstrued State Troopers in the local police department to solve the crime, and if they won’t, they will lose their job. Will they win or lose? You have to watch this mad comedy for that.

‘Jackass: The Movie’ (2002, Dir. Jeff Tremaine)

If you wish to watch a goofy light movie, this is the right pick for you. The activities shown in it give any viewer laugh out loud moments. The scenes where Johnny Knoxville uses a rental car to break into a store—and many crazy lines—give you much need dose of giggles. You can check out the film on Netflix.

Step Brothers’ (2008, Dir. Adam McKay)

As the name indicates, the film’s story revolves around two middle-aged man-children. The ‘stepbrothers’ are Brennan (Will Ferrell) and Dale (John C. Reilly). The pair initially fight, and then team up to save their family home as well as try and destroy each other. Hijinks ensue, such as a fight on the lawn and antics as potential buyers come to see their for-sale house. 

The film has some silly yet funny moments that one will love to watch with siblings. You can watch this movie on Amazon Prime.
