Filmmaker Ashley Nicole has announced she is releasing a new short film entitled “Stranded” to be available this summer.

According to Nicole, the film’s plot will revolve around an astronaut on Mars. She becomes stranded once Earth is engulfed in a world-ending nuclear war, and has no home to come back to. Due to the astronaut’s circumstances, she is the last living person in the entire Universe; she finds herself starving and losing her mind due to her solitude.

Like Nicole’s other projects, the film will feature the filmmaker’s narration, and will include a soundtrack to match. The film will be scored by @crymaeimusic, and will include a song by Sleeping at Last called “99 Red Balloons,” which is a cover of the original song by Nena. According to the film’s stills we have seen, it also looks like this time around the short will feature some original animation or still artwork. We look forward to seeing what Nicole’s new project brings to the table.
